Facebook wants to put an end to your mortifying drunk selfies
IT USED TO BE that you only had to scroll through your sent text messages to find out how much you embarrassed yourself on a night out.
Now, you have to watch out for incriminating selfies, tweets, and Instagram posts, to name but a few.
Facebook want to help – by curbing the drunk selfie problem for good.
The Guardian reports that the social network is developing artificial intelligence that will ask users if they really, really want to post that picture of themselves with pint in hand.
But how will it know if you’re drunk or not? Well, the ‘deep learning’ system will analyse your comments and other photos on Facebook to see if there’s evidence of anything embarrassing going on.
Facebook’s chief of artificial intelligence Yann LeCun told Wired:
LeCun and his fellow researchers hope that the ‘deep learning’ system will eventually be able to give users more control over what is posted about them online.
The problem of ‘drunk eyes’ in photos, eradicated for good. Imagine.
